Alpaca & llama Trekking
Treks take place at the weekend during the winter months (Nov – Feb). We also run weekday treks the rest of the year (Apr – Oct). You can see our yearly trek schedule here.
If you cannot book a ticket (they book up fast) please check back later. Tickets for treks are released on a rolling basis 90 days (three months) in advance.
Please be aware that you are trekking at your own risk. We have an excellent track record and while our boys are friendly and very used to people, alpacas and llamas are large animals that can nip and kick (although this is very unusual at Holly Hagg). Please see our health and safety guide for more information.
Please use the links below to book a trek. Treks with children do not need to be separately booked, and you can bring adults and children on the same trek. However, we do provide additonal information if you are bringing children, so if anybody in your group is under 16 please use the trekking with children link.
What to expect on our treks

- On arrival you’ll be welcomed with an introduction to the herd, shown how to hand feed them and given a safety briefing before being matched up with your perfect trekking partner.
- Our trained guides then take you through the beautiful scenery and woodlands around our community farm.
- The trek lasts about an hour with plenty of stops for feeding, taking in the scenery and photography.
