About group volunteering sessions
Who is it for?
Workplace teams, university groups and community organisations looking for an enjoyable, hands-on day outdoors, spending time in nature, around animals, and doing something genuinely useful to support a community project.
How many people in a group?
We suggest groups of 5–20 people, but can be flexible depending on the session, feel free to ask.
When do group sessions run?
Sessions usually take place on Tuesdays or Fridays. Sessions typically run between 10am and 3pm, with full and half day options available. We can be flexible with times to suit your group. Please check the calendar below for available dates before getting in touch.

What can we expect?
A practical, hands-on day working outdoors on real tasks around the farm. Activities vary depending on the season, but usually involve looking after the veg garden, forest garden, orchard and meadows. You might find yourselves doing things like bramble bashing, building dead hedges for wildlife, landscaping in the gardens, or working on structures such as sheds or willow fencing. We start with a short introduction, safety briefing and site tour, including meeting the animals, before moving into the day’s tasks. You’ll work at your own pace, with plenty of time for breaks and lunch at our picnic benches. The site is off-grid, with compost toilets and handwashing facilities.
What do we need to bring?
Sturdy footwear and clothes suitable for outdoor work in all weather are a must. You’ll also need to bring your own food and drink as we have no drinking water on site. Gloves are provided but feel free to bring your own.
Is there a cost?
We ask those who can afford it to make a contribution towards running costs. Not-for-profit, charity, community and educational groups are not expected to contribute unless they wish to. This helps us keep our activities free for the community and accessible to those who might not otherwise be able to take part. For corporate group sessions, this is typically around £20 per person, with a minimum contribution of £300 per group, depending on group size and the type of session.
How to book a group session
